Great Wine – Family Winemakers Tasting is Scheduled for Sunday, August 21 in San Francisco

Family Winemakers of California, an association of family-owned wineries in California, is proud to announce the 2016 date for its San Francisco tasting. This year, the trade and consumer tasting returns to San Francisco and takes place at the new Cruise Terminal at Pier 27 on Sunday, August 21. The tasting spotlights over 120 producers from California’s small, family-owned wineries pouring upwards of 500 wines, said Pete Downs, acting president of the Family Winemakers of California.

“Imagine the variety and choice in wine that’s available every year from California wineries. Many of these award winning and acclaimed wines will be tasted for the first time in the San Francisco area. This tasting is always a hit, but it’s also ideal to meet the owners and winemakers that craft this great wine. The passion-driven winemakers of these small production wines is what makes our tasting event really special. Wineries will feature many hard-to find wines, especially in the iSip Lounge where selected wines that retails above $75 will be poured,” added Downs. “Hear the family tradition behind the wines being poured and enjoy the beautiful setting of this new venue. We are excited to be here.”

The 2016 San Francisco Tasting opens its doors on Sunday, August 21 at 12:00 pm. The tasting is targeted to members of the trade and discerning consumers. The event ends at 5:00 pm.
